New traits, aligned definitions – The linear description and its increasing international comparability

The chief classifiers from 14 countries met for the first time 33 years ago to come to an agreement on how the conformation traits could be better compared between different countries. This past September the “Type Harmonisation Group,” which is now composed of 27 countries, came together for the 14th time. And their work is showing success. The correlations for individual conformation traits between the countries have never been as high as they are today, and they have never been so uniformly defined. Despite this, they are not satisfied. The linear description between the countries is to become even more uniform even though it will continue to constantly change.
