In the British region of Essex we find the dairy enterprise Curtismill Holsteins, owned by the Torrance family. Here high production is combined with longevity, while the genetic level via the British total index PLI is closely monitored: A successful approach, as you will read shortly.

The bull in the accompanying picture (Lord Lily) is one of no less than seven millionaires provided by the Dutch-Flemish breeding organization CRV. Even more impressive: this year, the organization celebrates its 150th (!) anniversary. In August, HI will publish an extensive documentary.

What a valuable purchase 24 years ago! At the Sunnylodge dispersal, the Cloutier family purchased Skychief daughter Alexis, who subsequently laid the foundation for a tremendous family at their Ferme Coti in Quebec. ‘One of the reasons for our Master Breeder title,’ explain the brothers.
