At the turn of the century, he broke through impressively: Imperial Mandel Manat. He became the dazzling new Nr.1 of Germany – progeny proven of course, because we are writing about 2000, several years before the arrival of genomics. Manat offered tremendous global appeal and the elite German bull was used all over the world, also as a sire of sons. Despite this extensive use, Manat’s impact looked like it might disappear... but was entirely rescued thanks to one exceptional daughter: Seagull-Bay Mirage. Here’s a look back at her curious sire.
