Holstein Switzerland & Swissherdbook The bigger the challenge, the closer the cooperation
Regardless its breeding evaluation periods or genomic selection, linear description, milk testing or milk analysis, herdbook management or the production of shows and other events: the tasks that herdbooks around the world have to fulfill are extensive. Naturally, the same is true for Switzerland, which is relatively small but continues to maintain two herdbooks. Nonetheless, the challenges of the future, including digitization and the social pressures on dairy farming, are not getting any smaller. Obviously, the number of projects the two organizations, the Swissherdbook and Holstein Switzerland which work hand in hand, are set to take on are increasing.
