REGANCREST SALE ENORMOUS SUCCESS
A splendid average price of $16,790 indicates that the 5th edition of the Regancrest Command Performance Sale was an enormous success. The sale took place at the Regancrest farm in Iowa (see picture) last Saturday, and the highest price of $94,000 went to Windsor-Manor Z-Delight VG-87. This 3-year-old is a Durham daughter out of the legendary Windsor-Manor Rud Zip EX-94, America’s second-highest index cow for longevity. Delight is due to Goldwyn in June; if a bull calf is born, then Select Sires will purchase it for $5000. Also expensive in Iowa was Regancrest Breya VG-86, who sold for $80,000. Breya is a Shottle out of the EX-92 Durham daughter Barbie; the next dam is an EX-92 Juror. Breya carries numerous embryo contracts. Another two expensive Holsteins: $67,000 was paid for Courtlane-UR Mac Charm (Mac x Shottle) and $50,000 for Regancrest Brocade (Goldwyn x Barbie).

BULL OF THE WEEK: SPENCER-RED
High on the sire line-up at Delta (the Netherlands & Flanders), popular for export and moving up with the April release: That’s the case for the Dutch Red Holstein bull Heihoeve Delta Spencer. He is a son of the respected sire of sons Lightning and out of a VG-85 Pigeonwood daughter. Spencer scores high for protein, type and longevity. He displays +.26% protein and +37 kg protein, and is thus among the highest on the Dutch list. Spencer needs to be protected for milking speed and a (somewhat narrow) front end. Spencer’s dam is pictured here.
