Lifetime production increases
The number of cows registered at the Swiss breeding association “Swissherdbook” to realize over 100,000 kg lifetime production is growing rapidly. Pickel daughter Simona (owned by Neuenschwander) is the 2000th cow to join the list of 100,000-kg-cows. Since 2004 the number of top lifetime producers in that category has doubled.

New Spanish proofs
The impressive dominance of heavily used Xacobeo at the top of the Spanish list stamped the July proof in the country that won the Soccer World Cup last Sunday. At the readjustment of the ICO in January, the BW Marshall son already picked up points. And this applies for the current proof run, too. After significant gains, O-Man sons Oregon and Ontario now rank 2nd and 3rd. Directly behind Morty son Tunno comes the highest debutant, Perejil Volvo, sired by Boliver and out of a Magna dam, with a proof that features good udder health and longevity. His full brother, Botin, and Volga, the 3rd noticeable Boliver son and a grandson to the dam of O-Man, would rank even higher, though they don’t have enough reliability yet. Other newcomers on the top list include Bos Morty Monroi and a grandson of Comestar Laura Black, Bos Titanic Torres. They both show a nice all-round profile at good production levels, with Torres being better for components.
